Have you ever heard of Model Magic? It’s a clay that you can color and glue on. It dries after several hours and becomes soft and airy and not pliable anymore. I’ve been using this stuff with kids for years.
However, I haven’t introduced it to a toddler as young as J. I figured that there’s no harm in trying.
So here we go.
I bought it in orange because we’ve been using that color a lot around here. I gave him markers and cookie cutters to use as well.
This activity was great for fine motor skills….
and large gross motor skills too. Oh the effort it takes to tear apart this stuff!
Plus. this is great for cognitive development and problem solving.
Check out what else J learned during this activity…how to take the tops of the markers on and off!
When we were done I rolled it into a ball and let it dry overnight. The next morning J had a new toy that he made himself! It did crack some, but I think that’s because I was in a rush to roll it up and didn’t take the time to get it really smooth. The cool thing about this ball is that it bounces!
I’m always on the lookout for new doughy stuff to introduce to J. Any suggestions on new things I should try?
And…no…I was not paid to review this product…it’s just something that I love and wanted to tell others about it.
Yes, we’ve played with this before. I love the way it dries. My two oldest girls (didn’t have a third yet) imprinted their hands and we painted them. It made a cute keepsake.
I forgot to mention how much I love your little boy’s cheeks – so adorable. I would love it if you’d come link up to Monday Madness http://letkidscreate.blogspot.com/2011/10/monday-madness-6.html

That looks great! How have I never gotten this stuff before. I guess I never thought about for that age kid. But it’s looks like a super activity. I am a new follower from Fun For Kids Friday. Vicky from Mess For Less
I have never used it at all. Is it made by crayola. I am putting it on my kids Christmas’ lists now! Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like a great way to explore and play.
thanks for sharing with Monday Madness. Hope you come back tomorrow.
Yes, it’s made by Crayola and comes in small individual packages or you can buy it in big tubs. I usually use the plain white because you can color it yourself!
Oh I don`t think I have heard or seen this before?! I will have to look into it as it looks like fun.
Also- LOVE your blog title! So perfect!!
I came via TGIF linky!
