This is the post that I never thought that I’d write, but here I am, writing it. This is the post where I tell you that I have to take a break from the blog.
I love this blog, but…
Something’s gotta give.
Every evening I look at my to do list and take note of all the things that didn’t get crossed off that day. I move those tasks to the next day’s list, knowing that some things on the list will be left undone tomorrow too. Laundry sits in the dryer overnight, the dishwasher doesn’t get unloaded, emails don’t get written, and blog posts don’t get done.
but…
Most of the time I figure out how to catch up and I’m able to keep things together.
However…
We recently got orders from the military to move again in June. My to do list now includes things like researching the new area, house hunting, packing boxes, redoing our finances, deciding how to move our stuff, finding movers, and the list goes on and on. My to do list is now unmanageable and I can’t seem to catch up.
Something’s gotta give.
Unfortunately, the only thing that I can give up is this blog…at least for a while.
I love this blog, but I’m just not able to put the time and energy into it that it needs. I’m not giving you my best, and I need a break.
So, starting today you won’t see me posting here for a while. I’ll still be hanging around Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, so you can still connect with me there.
The great thing is that my family won’t stop playing, so I’ll have lots of stuff to share when I do get back to blogging. Baby E will be older and playing more so I’ll be including him more in the blog. J will be 3 years old and doing more preschool things. I’ll finally have the time to spend on the blog to give you more good quality stuff.
So stick with me…I’ll be back soon enough!
Please come on over to Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest to keep in touch!
I totally understand! Last time we PCS’d I took a year off of blogging for the transition and potty training. The key is just not to feel guilty about it. You are doing what you need to do and you’ll be back after the transition! I really enjoy blogging now and I absorbed a lot while I was reading other blogs but not writing. BTW – Berenstein Bears Moving Day book was a really helpful children’s book to help the kids process the move. Good luck with the PCS!
It’s good to hear that others have taken breaks from blogging and have been able to come back. I actually feel a bit relieved to have one less thing to do every day! Sad, but it was getting a bit overwhelming. Thanks for the book recommendation, I’ll have to buy it.
I think any parent will totally understand!! You are awesome, take all the time you need, your readers (like me!) will be waiting for you when you are ready 🙂
Thanks Carrie! It’s good to know that you’ll still be here!
We will miss you but totally understand. Enjoy your family and try not to stress to much as you head out on another adventure. God bless you and your family.
You will be missed, but you’re right to put your family first! Best of luck in your new adventures and we all look forward to hearing from you again!
Take care of yourself, okay? Everything will work itself out somehow. XO
Amanda- If you take a break, it will still be here when you get back! I took a break without even telling anyone- and when I came back, I was ready and motivated to work on it, again- Military moves are stressful! After 10 years in the army, married to another servicemember, and growing up in a military family…..I imagine more than your blog will be giving as you guys amp to move! haha! Super stressful and busy-times ahead….Good luck!
