Recommended Resources

Every parent needs a few good tools in their toolbox, but there’s so many books, courses, and resources that it can be overwhelming for anyone.  Have you looked at the parenting section at a bookstore!?  There’s got to be a bazillion books out there that will fix any of your parenting struggles.  Some are good and some aren’t worth the paper they are printed on.

Well, it’s good that there are people out there, like me, that love to read and research everything about parenting and families.  I’ve taken the time to read books, read reviews, and attend courses and because I also have degrees in child development, family studies, and mental health counseling, I know the resources that are worth the investment.

Below are my favorite resources that you might find helpful.  First, let’s talk motherhood and self-care.  Below that you’ll find courses and several book lists that cover all sorts of parenting struggles.

Motherhood and Self-Care

Self-care is the most important part of motherhood, but it’s also so hard to build a working self-care plan into your daily life.  Here are some of the best self-care programs and books in my toolbox, plus anything and everything that can help you become the best mother that you can be for your family.

Banish the Mom Funk

This Free 7 Day Banish the Mom Funk Challenge was born after I found myself in a Mom Funk and unhappy with my life.  I spent months working on building a self-care plan that worked and found ways to infuse joy into my daily life.  Each lesson is quick and simple, but at the end of the 7 days, you’ll be feeling like a happier, healthier version of you.

Mama’s Anger Management

Anger happens to all of us.  It’s a normal human emotion that we all feel, but it seems like our anger gets bigger as soon as we become parents.  Being a Mental Health Therapist, I never thought I’d become a yelling Mom, but I did.  After one terrible day with my kids, I knew I had to stop.  So I went back to my education and training and learned how to become a calm parent who can handle the chaos children bring.  I put together my knowledge and experience and built this guilt-free course that can help you become the calm parent you’ve always wanted to be.  Check it out.

Parenting

Parenting is tough and you’re never fully prepared for it, and you never master it.  Once you get the hang of one age and stage, things change and you have a whole bunch of other parenting issues to figure out.  Shoot, I even get emails from Grandparents who are looking for advice for their adult children and grandchildren.

We are always learning and always trying to find new techniques that work for our family.  I hope these tools and books help you, no matter what stage your in.

Get Kids to Listen without Nagging, Reminding, or Yelling

One of the biggest complaints I hear from parents is that their children don’t listen to them unless they yell.  They are tired of yelling, but they don’t know how to get their children to listen without it.  Sound familiar?  Check out this FREE webinar from Positive Parenting Solutions.  It’s packed full of great parenting tips and gives you step by step instructions for making consequences that work.
