Marble Race Track

Several months ago, I found the coolest marble race track on Pinterest.  It was posted from Home Spun Threads.   I immediately ran out and bought at pool noodle and cut it in half.  I added 2 marbles, and “the best game ever” was made!

I still keep the noodles in the hall closet and frequently J will enthusiastically pull one out for a some fun.   He ran across it yesterday, so I thought I’d show you how it goes.

Now, it doesn’t look all that special or neat..but it is!  Please excuse the books.  Because of the way I’ve stored the noodle, it has a bend to it and needs to be supported or it will roll on it’s side.

It’s a really simple game.  All you need is the noodle, a staircase, and marbles.

Put the noodle on the staircase, and drop a marble in the middle.

Run and laugh while chasing down marbles.

Pick up marble, and do it again…and again…and again…

I first introduced this game to J when he was 15 months old, and it’s been a favorite since.  It’s a great activity for fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual perception, and overall cognitive development.

This will be a game that will be around our house for a long time…guaranteed!
