Get Organized! 10 Ways to Organize Toys

Last month I put an end to my weekly Getting Organized Series.  I needed some time to figure out a better way of featuring my favorite organizational ideas that are out in the blogging world.  Well…a few weeks was all I needed, and now I’m back with a roundup of my favorite ways of organizing kid’s toys!

Sometimes it feels like kid’s toys can easily overrun a house.  Stuffed animals end up everywhere, dress up clothes are thrown willy-nilly around the house, and heaven forbid you step on the Lego pieces left on the floor!

Kids toys all need homes to return to when not being played with.  This is not only for good housekeeping, but also promotes independence and teaches life skills to kids.  Children are more likely to keep things clean if they know where everything goes.  Plus, they are able to play more independently if they know exactly where a toy is when they want it.

So, for all those reasons, and more, I did some research on ways of containing the toys.  Now, I get to share my favorite ideas with you!

Wow, I just started following you so I didn’t know you had organizational tips. I just set up a super hero changing station for my 3 year old. He LOVES it.

You’re welcome. We also have WAY too many matchbox cars. Right now they are in a drawer in our coffee table, but I need a better solution. I too am thinking of using the magetic strip.

oh thank goodness – when I first glanced at this post I thought all these ideas were from your own home. I don’t think I could have coped with one person being that organised. I love the cuddly toy ockets – I might have to try that one for Goblin.
I also like the magnetic strips for the cars but I think a lot of Goblin’s have plastic undercarriages so I don’t know if it would work. I might have to experiment first.

That. Is. Amazing! Arranging toys is the toughest task there is when you have 2 or more kids! In my case, I have 2, so putting their toys together properly is tough work.

Thanks for these tips. My kids lose their toys all over the house. Perhaps this could help them always know where they are, and help me never to step on them again.
