Early Morning Mom Time

At this moment, It’s 5:30am, Baby E has just settled back down after waking up for the 3rd time last night.  He’s teething, so my sleeping-through-the-night-since-12-weeks-old-baby is now waking multiple times a night.

But that’s ok, because it gets me out of bed in the morning.

Instead of going back to sleep for an hour until I’m woken up by his older brother, I sit here at my computer, coffee in hand, blogging.

My pre-baby me would be appalled, but this is My Time.

My time to take a breath and prepare for the day.

My time to have uninterrupted thoughts.

My time to sit without being asked for yet another cup of milk.

My time to see the glory of a new day awakening.

My time to reflect and think.

It centers me, relaxes, me, and nourishes my soul.

It’s my favorite time of day, and I don’t mind losing that last hour of sleep for it.

It’s times like these, where I get some peaceful time to reflect, that make me a more relaxed, loving, and playful Mom.

That’s why 5:30am is my favorite time of day.

Are you like me and enjoy your morning time, or are you more rejuvenated in the evening?  What is your favorite Mom Time?  We all need one.
