DIY Water Wall

I saw a water wall at Happy Hooligans and I knew that we needed one in the back yard.

DIY Water Wall

I mentioned it to my husband and he offered up a large piece of peg board that he didn’t need anymore.  It was the perfect backing for our water wall and made it so easy to attach everything to.  My hubby attached it underneath the our stairs with screws.

To make the wall, I simply took a bunch of empty plastic containers in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and put a few holes in the bottom or cut them off completely.  I poked a few more holes in the side so that they can be zip tied to the peg board.  I had a few extra water toys that were a great addition to the wall. (the yellow funnel, orange and pink spinner, and blue sifter).

I placed a big plastic box at the bottom of the wall to catch all the water.  I gave J a cup and he used it to fill the containers with.

He likes to fill up the containers and watch it all rain back down.  The spinner is pretty great fun for him too.

I plan on adding to the wall by adding some tubing or other fun containers.

So far, it’s been a great addition to our outdoor play area.
