I have been tagged by The Monko at Taming the Goblin in a Christmas meme. I thought it looked like fun, so I joined along. Here is a special Christmas About Me!
Q1. What’s your favorite thing about Christmas?
Honestly there isn’t much about Christmas that I don’t like. But, nothing brings out the true joy of Christmastime for me than the music. Big Christmas hymns and an A Cappella version of Silent Night have been known to bring tears to my eyes. I’m also a big sucker for the secular stuff like “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”. I have a playlist of Christmas music that plays at home and in the car from the day after Christmas till the New Year.
Q2. What’s your favorite makeup look for the festive season?
Makeup, why would that change for Christmas? Let’s see, lately most days I’ve been just a powder and mascara kind of girl. I call it the pregnancy laziness. But, I do still “put on my face” when we go out somewhere besides the grocery store. There’s nothing special to it, just my norm. I’ll be makeup-less on Christmas morning, because who has the time to put on makeup when there’s presents to open?
Q3. Real or fake tree?
Because we move so much, we decided a while ago to trash the fake tree (after ours broke) and the trouble of moving it every few years. Now, we go for the real deal. I love the smell and the way the tree looks. Plus, I get to get rid of it at the end of the season.
Q4. Giving presents or receiving them?
Both! I seriously love finding that perfect gift for someone special. I have a major problem holding back and not wanting them to open the gift right away. However, it’s equally as cool when someone I love finds me the perfect gift.
Q5. Do you open your presents Christmas morning or evening?
Most Christmases we are in Dallas with both of our families. Christmas day consists of traveling from one family’s house to another, so we are opening presents all day long. This year is the first year that we are celebrating in our own home, and we’ll be opening presents as soon as possible Christmas morning. Try keeping J (and me) away from all the presents!
Q6. Handmade Christmas cards or bought?
I try to send out a photo card every year. They almost didn’t happen this year, but I finally got my act together and got them out this week. It’s hard enough to get them printed and addressed, I can’t imagine trying to make my own!
Q7. What’s your favorite Christmas film?
I have two movies I need to watch each year. Love Actually and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
Q8. What’s your favorite Christmas food?
I have a huge sweet tooth and have a really hard time staying away from the sweets. My family’s tradition is to make my great-grandmother’s rum balls. It’s the only time of year that we make them, and I can seriously put away some rum balls.
I’m now supposed to tag a few other bloggers, but since today is Christmas, I guess it will stop with me. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
