Child Made wrapping Paper

I’ve seen posts all over about making your own wrapping paper, and even a few with children using paints to decorate wrapping paper.  I knew that this would be something that J would enjoy doing and that family would love to have their presents wrapped in.  So, I added to our Advent Calendar activities.

The invitation to create consisted of 3 plates of paint, cookie cutters, sponge brushes, and rolled out brown craft paper.

J took to it immediately.  He always prefers creating on the floor where he can move around, so I knew that he would be interested in it presented in this way.

By having it on the floor he uses his big muscles while working on his fine motor skills as well.  Being a very active boy, he just stays interested in creating when he can move his body.

He really liked making Christmas trees with the cookie cutters.  Of course, his car had to be involved in the creating process as well.  Cars always seem to make their way into his activities.

After the paint dried, I cut out what I thought was the prettiest part of his painting and wrapped up one of my husband’s presents in it.  I added a pretty bow, and I love how it turned out!
