A Walk in My Shoes

I am thrilled to be a part of the In {Her} Shoes series over at Crayon Freckles!  Head over there today to see what it’s like in my shoes.  I feel like a wrote a lot, but sometimes I have a lot to say!  Hope you read it and enjoy learning some more about me!

Since I’m sharing so much today, I thought I’d share a bit more here.  My bloggy friend, Krissy from B. Inspired  Mama, shared a lot about herself a few weeks ago, and I’m totally going to copy her idea!  She nominated me for the “One Lovely Blog Award”, where I have to share 7 things about me.  A few months back, another one of my friends, Jen from Plain Vanilla Mom, nominated me for the Liebster Award.  I was right smack in the middle of our cross country move, so I didn’t do a post about it.  So today, I’m combining the two!

Ok…let’s get to it!

  1. I go to Sonic almost every day for a Diet Strawberry Limeade (sometimes with a side of cheddar peppers).  Call it a family tradition because my Mom, Aunt and Cousin get drinks from there daily too!  It’s almost like being a bit closer to home…since I live so far away from them.
  2. I could spend the rest of my life in Colorado…to bad I’ve never actually lived there!  I’d love to spend the rest of my days on the side of a mountain somewhere in the shade of pine trees.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the military will take us there one day.
  3. I drove a Mini Cooper before they were cool.  Unfortunately, I had to sell it when little man J came around.  Not really a kid friendly car.  Still miss driving that beauty!
  4. I sang and played piano throughout my childhood.  There was a time that I wanted to be a professional singer, but decided that helping children was more of my calling.
  5. I grew up with my husband, but we didn’t date until we were adults and done with college.  He actually dated one of my good friends throughout high school!  A mutual friend’s wedding brought us both back to our hometown where we “re-met” and the rest is history.
  6. I love organizing things.  I mean….I really love organizing.  Nothing thrills my soul more than having everything in it’s place.  Maybe I’ll be a professional organizer later in life.
  7. I won’t leave the house without makeup on.  It doesn’t have to be much, but powder and mascara at least!  I was raised in the South and my Mama taught me that ”You never have a second chance to make a good first impression”!

Make sure you spend some time over at Crayon Freckles, B.Inspired Mama, and Plain Vanilla Mom. They are seriously 3 of my favorite blogs I read daily!

Hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about me.  Now, go find out even more over at Crayon Freckles!

I just read your post over at Crayon Freckles and I totally identify with you. My husband is in the Air Force and I feel the same way about friends, babysitters, and dating my husband! We’ve been at our new place for almost a year and I just now feel like we’ve established a network of friends. Good luck with the little one on the way!

I just checked out your blog and it does seem like we have a ton in common. So glad to have found you! Oh, it always seems to take me about a year in a new place to feel settled.
