4th of July Sensory Box

Yesterday I made my first trip to the local Dollar Tree since our move here.  It’s huge, and I’m in heaven!  I picked up lots of great 4th of July stuff and made a fun sensory box for J.  Everything but the beans and marbles were just $1 at the dollar store!

4th sensory box
Inside the box:

  • Red Beans
  • White Beans (inside baby food jar with a spoon)
  • Blue and Red Foam Blocks
  • Cut up pieces of 4th of July garland
  • Piece of 4t of July crape paper
  • Small blue cups with clear marbles

J took out a lot of the stuff and played with each piece individually.  As always, his favorite part was scooping up all the beans and marbles into the containers and pouring them out again.  This box was played with and explored throughout the day, and he loved it!

One of my favorite parts was watching him stack blocks….fine motor development at it’s best!  His favorite part was when they all came crashing down.

This was a fun way to start talking about Independence Day and red, white and blue.  Hope all my American readers all have a wonderful 4th of July!
